(0:00)Does God call us to suffer?
if you don't know what God has called you to can you really say you have succeeded I feel like God has called some people to suffering I don't think God has called anybody to suffering I think suffering is a part of the human existence and everybody in one way or the other will encounter it either it is a suffering materially or suffering emotionally or suffering physically we all will at some point in time or the other suffer
(0:24)The Rich Young Ruler's blind spot
unfilter hi everybody Welcome to pfm filtered and my name is Esther Griffin and I have my name is tund mola and we have Pastor FEI with us again yo what's up this episode is sponsored by Barrow Avenue Bakery and so we want you guys to go out and buy some sweet cakes Cupcakes all the things um they if they're trying to figure out how to buy the cakes how we will put uh description in the post notes um we want you guys to subscribe comment let us know how you like the video um and like so on this episode we're gonna be talking about um a topic that we referenced in another episode and it was just around the Rich Young Ruler and how he thought he was doing all the things right but then Jesus Christ came and pretty much showed him that based on his actions showed us that he didn't have it all together and so I think sometimes we can think that we have it all together but then when we get into our word when we start to read the scriptures we realize that what we thought it was based on our actions or the things that we did did not necessarily make us righteous but it was us knowing Christ that actually made us righteous so that is the conversation that we're going to be discussing today um T any thoughts yes esta do you know
(1:37)How do you actually know Christ?
CR I do know Christ and I have a relationship with him how do you how do you know you know Christ how do I know I know Christ one I've been filled with the Holy Spirit okay number two when I want to go and make decisions that I know that are so two things when I before I got saved I would make decisions with no like true care of the consequences um but now when I go to make decisions there is an awareness that the holy spirit is speaking to me about the consequences that can come from that decision not necessarily just like good and bad but like do making good decisions that not only benefit me but benefit the collective and the people around me and so there's an awareness of that that I didn't have before some people would call that growing up growing up mat charity yeah I I I would disagree because it's my life F shut up absolutely so um you know no one I think sometimes you have to think about like your own personal experience right nobody cannot tell me that I haven't seen you today because I actually have seen you so I think there's a you seen me I have seen you yeah so there's a level of individual truth that I have within my heart right of course um and then in terms of you believing what I've said that's up to you to believe what I've said or not it doesn't even matter if it's true true right so there's some people is not a well to to your point there's some people that don't believe that Jesus Christ came to the Earth right but there is hisor IAL fact that he actually came to the Earth and died so it's up to you if you want to believe or not to believe yeah the basis of our faith belief belief um so to that point back to the original topic right when it comes to people making decisions or doing things and thinking they have it right and then kind of like the Bible shining a light or Jesus shining a light on um truth right what are your thoughts PF on that
(3:26)A man's ways are right in his own eyes
I I think um the Bible says that many are the thoughts of a man's heart right we we think a lot of things and ultimately only the Lord's counsel prevails and I interpret that to mean that it's not just that it is only God's will that will be done it is that only that which is the Lord's counsel is true only that which is the Lord's counsel is real yeah um we we we we a man's ways are right in his own eyes yeah and the word of God reveals to us what is right and what is wrong yeah so absolutely you can think whatever you like about yourself you can you can have whatever perspective you you want about yourself the word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword dividing a s between flesh between Soul and Spirit between joint and Marrow the word will revealed to you whether you are full of it or you are full of the truth the Rich Young Ruler interestingly right was a is a
(4:32)Why the Rich Young Ruler walked away sad
very for me I find that whole thing a little stressful in the sense that this guy said to Jesus I have been Jesus said he said to Jesus what do I need to do to inherit eternal life mhm right great question and Jesus said to him go and Obey all the laws of Moses 613 laws of Moses and the guy said I have been doing that from childhood yeah you know what it illustrates to me is what Jesus Christ says that you actually search the scriptures but you don't see me right how do you obey all the 613 laws of Moses from childhood because Jesus didn't argue with him Jus didn't say you liar you've only you didn't obey all of them just said then go and sell everything you have and um give it to the poor and the guy he couldn't he couldn't sell everything he had to give to the poor why we can speculate we can say he he money had become an idol to him we can say he loved money too much we can speculate as to why but he had a problem with going to sell everything he had maybe it was that he just didn't like being told what to do by Christ but but I think if I'm not mistaken the the scripture said that he walked away yeah sad like sad like but we don't know why exactly he was sad Jesus Christ said it is going to be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom it's going to be as hard as a cam passing through the eye of a needle can we deduce that it is because he had to give up everything okay so he could have been sad because he had to give up his riches he could have been sad because Jesus Christ told him to give up his riches he could have been sad because he was being given an instruction he could have been sad because he didn't like poor people and didn't think they deserved this whiches you what I'm saying there are multiple reasons for his that could have been there but the end of it he he struggled to part with his his riches right and that is telling yeah partly because
(6:40)Materialism vs. Divine Validation
some people see riches as the validation of God right we see wealth and material things as an indication that God loves us and God um validates us right but it's problematic because the Bible says God does not measure your life according to your the number of material things you have so this man was looking at his could have been looking at his wealth right as at his success in quote on Earth as God's validation yeah right and Jesus Christ was B was basically saying toss away all of that validation toss away the evidence that you have been obeying the law since you were a child cuz that's the evidence of it toss it all away and he just couldn't and we are like that we struggle because we attach certain things to certain things and really the truth is they have nothing to do with each other they have nothing to do with you particularly when it comes to comfort we we we we we we always feel like the more comfortable we are the better we are than everyone else the more approving God is of us right so if you're doing well at work God loves you if you are healthy God loves you if you are you know making big box God loves you the people who are not making money does God not love them does God not love the people who are unwell God not love the people who are struggling financially absolutely not right so the a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his material possessions that guy didn't get that he he he couldn't he couldn't comprehend the idea of not having all of this stuff right and and he just he gave up the whole concept of eternal life rather than give up um his his wealth because that was his life I do have a question I think within that context when you think about like the church that you Pastor m how do you think people in 2025 still have that same mindset like what do you think the things that come up in terms of maybe material things or like even just like lifestyle that you think people are still dealing with now is what they've been taught it's what we've been taught right is what we've been taught the the the the Bible says that uh do not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may approve what is God's good perfect and acceptable will we have been taught right particularly those of us who came to Christ um in the 80s 90s the 2000s right we've been taught a gospel that basically says if God loves you right everything in your life has to be perfect would you say that's just for America or Nigeria like how would you that gospel has spread I don't think it's the Gospel of Jesus however let me let me say this so that everybody can hear me clearly I do believe the Bible says I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers the word Prosper in our parents is used to signify material success yeah but the word Prosper is simply to succeed no weapon formed against you shall prosper it means shall succeed right so when he says I wish above all things that thou mayest Prosper it means thou mayest succeed succeed in what in what God has called
(9:58)The truth about 'Prosperity' in the Bible
you to right succeed in this Enterprise called life and the success of your life is that you have succeeded in what God has called you to so if you don't know what God has called you to can you really say you have succeeded that's good because I feel like God has called some people to suffering I don't think God has called anybody to suffering I think suffering is a part of the human existence and everybody in one way or the other will encounter it either it is a suffering materially or a suffering emotionally or a suffering physically we all will will at some point in time or the other suffer there's I don't think there's any human being that will close his eyes for the that will close their their eyes for the last time without having tasted the bitterness of suffering right in in this world you will have troubles right in this world you're going to have challenges but fear not or don't worry you've overcome the world so as long as we are on this Earth it's the nature of the world right the nature of sin that entered the world right makes man um a purveyor right a a a dealer of suffering yeah right so you can't escape suffering I don't think that faith will equate to The Escape of suffering I think that what faith does right is is is help you a deal with suffering overcome suffering and eventually Escape suffering right
(11:24)Does faith mean an escape from suffering?
but you will pass through the waters they just won't drown you right you will pass through the fire they just won't burn you yeah right they did throw Shadrach mesek and Abed Neo into the fiery furnace mhm they threw them in there but the Bible says that there was a fifth man there so he didn't burn them but they were there that means that he didn't achieve the purose for which they were thrown into they were thrown into it to be destroyed by it correct it didn't destroy it it didn't destroy them right Steven was stoned but they K they killed him they killed him but that's the thing though you know we talked about this death is not as we have made it to be right when the Bible says that the sting of death is gone what does that mean it means that if if we die right without accepting without eating from the Tree of Life if all that we have is the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil when we die then death death takes away from us the opportunity to ever eat from the Tree of Life right death is powerful in that context yeah death is like after a Christian has eat after a person has eaten from the Tree of Life Christ death is like closing the B door after the horses have escaped the purpose of death right is to seal your faith right it's is the final gate closing right yeah if the gate closes after you have escaped has the gate closed it hasn't really closed yeah right if the gate closes while you are inside you're okay then you're you're screwed right right so for a Christian death has lost its thing in the sense that when death comes it's lost its power it has it has lost the ability to seal my faith then death really just becomes transition not a sentence right so when when the Bible say death has lost its sting death has lost its power it means that death has lost the power to decide your destiny because anything that you don't do on this left in this earth you're not going to to do again right right this life
(13:30)This life is our Garden of Eden
with all its flaws and all its mess is our guardien of Eden it is our guardian of Eden because it is in this life that you have the two trees right the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil and the tree of life right the Tree of Life Is Christ the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil is when you choose to elevate your knowledge of Good and Evil over Christ I like that so in this life you get a bite another bite at the Apple death shuts the door on that Apple you will never get a bite of that Apple once you're dead I just clocked another bite of the Apple yeah it's crazy yeah this life you get another bite because Adam beat into the apple apple in quotes and we are judged because of what we did not do it was Adam who did it God we were not in the Garden of Eden personally we're in Adam yes but personally we were not there so God has to give us a chance to make the choice he gave adam right Adam had a choice everybody that is born of Adam didn't have a choice Adam made a choice for us right it would be kind of unfair for God to judge us on Adam's choice right so he gives us a choice and that choice is Christ or not I heard people say and this is a slight seg comedic relief I heard people say like it was spous spousal influence on Adam do that mean he was not but but but but he but it was though he was his come his wife his wife came and said to him hey this was good you want some and he had the choice to take it or not absolutely absolutely but for whatever reason he he listened to her voice right and he and he did it right and God was was mad at him right but I was not there in person correct I did not have the opportunity to say if you like follow Eve me I will follow God I get that chance in this life I get that chance in this life what death does is that it deprives me of the opportunity to make that choice right so if I get to make the choice death has lost his thing when the Bible says nothing can separate me from the love of God death has lost its thing and it includes in that passage neither life nor death yes yeah so I eat so I stand in front of the Cross and people see a cross with the man hanging on it they see death on the cross right but if you look on the third day the dead rose right so the cross instead of being a symbol of death then becomes in a sense a symbol of Life mhm right and it's right there in the center of the garden yeah so choose choose and every time a man is presented with the cross right and he says no I'm going to go with what I know it is impossible for somebody to die to pay for my sins it doesn't make any sense this Christianity doesn't make any sense every time a man references sense right mhm what he is doing yeah he's taking another bite at the same Apple that Adam beat and he's ignoring the very same tree that Adam ignored so the Judgment of Adam is confirmed upon him but when he exercises his Free Will and bites from Christ right then he is different from Adam right he's different from Adam now he's no longer subject to the Judgment I have another question and maybe the lack of reading my word would reveal this but what about the people that did not have a chance to accept Christ as their lord Psalm 19:1 mhm the Bible says that they'll be judged according to their conscience right the Bible says that the whole of creation right has revealed God to them mhm those are the folks who the issue then is not is not Christ the issue then is what you know to be right is that what you did and what you knew to be wrong is that what you did right because Abraham how did Abraham know God the same way that Abraham looked at the skies and decided there's a God is the same way that everybody in his village looked at the skies and they decided there's no God instead they were worshiping some piece of rock they brought out of the ground we are constantly choosing and our choices matter right constantly choosing our choices matter our choices matter in ways that we don't even realize they they they're mattering they're making a difference right If Abraham can look at disguise and say there's a God I'm going to follow him and another man looks at the SKU and says oh the stars are so pretty and come to the conclusion that that beauty was the product of spontaneous combustion why does spontaneous combustion not produce chaos it's more likely scientifically I would say to produce chaos than such a level of organization and Harmony I have another thought wouldn't you say that like the fact that people like the fact that he like Adam even had that thought is that not like a thought of Grace like what okay in in the sense that the fact that he looked at the stars and said I'm sorry Abraham abrah I'm sorry Abraham looked at the stars and was like H God exists yeah okay another person like but I feel like in in that sense that is God revealing himself to to Abraham right mhm okay so in the same way the awareness for another person to come and look at the stars and not get it that God created is that that person's fault you could say that and then you could say not but so so that question you asked right it comes from that that um that scripture it is God that works in us both to Will and to do thank you that's the there yeah okay so that question right is a very um it's a very interesting question right that people have struggled to answer I believe sincerely that God reveals himself to everybody to some degree we all have our burning bush moment right and everybody makes a choice right everybody makes a choice if we could not make a choice do we have a choice do you get my point yeah if God is going to say well I revealed myself to Abraham but I didn't reveal myself to Esther how does he judge Esther and not Abraham then he would be unjust right is it possible that Abraham looked and Esther didn't the Bible talks about how Moses saw the bush and he turned away MH when you read that passage can you imagine seeing a bush that is burning and not burning and you won't turn away can you seriously can you imagine it but there many people who would see that bush and be like huh interesting and they'll keep going H yeah that's interesting every day people are choosing what to turn away to right right what to make them what makes them pause right and say wait to why is this flower like this right why is this thing so you know got me think there's a verse in second Peter that that talks about this and I'm not too sure anyway I guess not even that first cuz it talks about the very second talks about Peter was telling not sure the audience but it was saying everyone God is patient enough to give everyone a chance God is Not slack concerning his promises he's patient right we may all come to repentance and I think about that one and going back to the the the Y Gula for for a second even though I know this podcast episode is not necessarily about good but the very first thing he went in there I think he asked was good teacher teacher and Christ is resp sponsors no but is good why do you call me only find is good and I follow it to when I look at myself in this life and I ask myself okay T maybe he's not necessarily an idol to your point but what is it that beyond my works that if Christ said give that up for me because I'm not blown like that for me it's not necessarily money I'm saying that now with the convenience of like I'm a decent making guy but exactly yeah but what I'm thinking is like what else is in my life that has even something as simple as Arsenal like a a football club that you love that you prioritize I'm not saying this from a place of condemnation but you just see things clearly that you that not you that I prioritize over God like if the question is and it sounds a little fous but if the question is can you walk away from that oh yeah you did all this I hear you you are passionate about whatever but can you walk away from that thing that you that you love so much well maybe Idol but whatever World want you know that we've put so much above him and I think that's a question that for me to to be sincere right but it's a it's a I know it's sometimes judgment comes in which even though we're not necessarily supposed to I mean condemn ourselves CU Christ is not condemning us but that's a question that forces me and I'm curious to know if the young richer ever after that interaction went back and like man you know what maybe I it's possible it's possible right I I I think one of the things that I'm begin to realize that many times we don't even know right when we step out of God's path right I don't know how many people know that they are idolizing their money and they continue idolizing their money right I don't know how people know that this is um that kind of problem you know I've exalted Arsenal how you can exalt Arsenal Aral I mean well people do people do but how many of them actually know that they're doing it and have they really done it yeah because I think to your point that Rich Young Ruler did not know that he had put his money in the position that he had put it in yes right and again we're assuming that the problem was the money not the people yeah right that he we're assuming that the God's problem with him mhm was the money not that he didn't want to help the people right right because it could be that he gave to the poor though a part of the law is to give to the poor is it I mean you can find a way to fin yeah you know so there's there's a law that says honor your mother and your father MH so part of honoring them is giving them money but if you say that this money has been designated for God you don't have to give it to your parents anymore and people were using that law to justify not giving them money to their to their parents so people could do people can do anything with it right I think that the the problem with the Rich Young Ruler right we don't know all of it right the Bible doesn't is not clear on all of it what is clear is that people who have a lot of wealth right and and we see it play out right you know there's one scripture that I I I I heard very early in my work with God it says was David saying God don't give me too little that I will curse you or and too much that I will forget you it's easier to forget the Lord when you are full and we see it with the immigrant experience when a lot of immigrants a lot of us were in Africa Nigeria and you know the African countries our Christianity even though it may have been based on flaw Doctrine was very fervent very very fervent and part of it was because we we felt like we needed to call on God to just survive yeah daily survival survive the the robbers survive the policemen survive Electric survive poverty survive all sorts of problems we get to the West a lot of the struggles that we had there we don't have them automatically just by geographical positioning YH right and what you see is a cooling of that fervency right because our fervency was tied to our circumstances and when our circumstances changed our fervency diminished to the point where some of us actually dismiss a need for God right I was thinking about this on my way here today yeah yeah so but what was driving that dismissal it was it was affluence yeah so this is just a Turn the Page a little bit when I was on my way here I was just thinking about how when like has like different churches different bodies of churches call for people to help within the church um whether it's giving to the poor whether it's uh donations so one thing that we've done in the past at our church is that when there's a new school year coming up we um go get school supplies and we do like a back to school drive and so sometimes when we're doing some of these activities it can be difficult to pull in resources I mean but ultimately we do it and I was thinking about how you know like when someone comes on stage to ask for these resources how it almost seems like they have to beg people to give but I always wonder is like because we're in America some people don't understand the magnitude of what it's like to not have and so I started to divvy off and think about what is like for people when when you see a homeless person and they're asking for food what it's like to actually not have food like many people do not know what it's like to actually truly be poor or truly be without food right for like the next day right and so I think about that and my thoughts are if people could get a taste of what they don't have maybe they will appreciate it more I I I I I think I think true but it doesn't solve the problem because when they get it they cling to it tighter right so sometimes the the reason why people don't give is because they have tasted hunger right and they're afraid of going back to that hunger right at the root of a not giv is a lack of faith right it's either a you think think what you have you got so go get yours mhm right meaning you do not acknowledge God as your Source or B if I give you I will not have you don't acknowledge God as your Source if I give you too much I will have nothing left you don't acknowledge God as your Source if I give you I will spoil you youve forgotten that you also what you have you were given ultimately right that's why money is such a powerful symbol yeah right and and that's why I think God pokes at our money because our money many times reveals the truth separate from what we say there's a lot of willpower involved in following the law there's some with very strong willpower strong impulse control they they rule over themselves with a very firm hand you can put whatever Temptation in front of them there are people who actually have within themselves the capacity to say I'm not going to touch that and they won't touch it there some people who don't mhm but there a lot of people who do right so obeying all the laws I know people who that would not be a problem for once they knew what they were they could do it right let me classic example I bake right my wife doesn't bake my wife does not B because she cannot be disciplined enough to follow a recipe she's going to look at that recipe and is's going to say four cups of butter he going to be like what all of that fat cups of butter heck no and she will reduce it to one and a half one and a half to 5 tablesp me and her are the same please it does make sense however that butter is part of a chemical reaction that produces the cake right by using her own judgment to reduce it she will never get a good cake you and it's understandable judgment because she's thinking ah I don't want to make it unhealthy but that is qu that yeah well I on the other hand oh I can follow a recipe to a tea if they say 1/8 of a teaspoon I will get a 1/8 teaspoon I will measure it and I will level it right what if they say a flick of of pepper I will flick the pepper oh I will find a way to measure it I kid you not flick it I use chat GPT hey yeah for recipes that's it that's break this down into this components for me scale this to fit a 9in pan a 10in pan a 12in pan wait PF you're bring you actually have your laptop like sitting on the counter while you're yeah sometimes on my phone so like I'm trying to F so a pinch or salt a pinch is usually an e okay usually an e so if you check what a pinch is they will tell it's usually an e right and because so if you do a pinch yeah you can you won't get a precise result each time H I'm sorry you get a precise result each time famous word so you use no but if you use an ace For example you get consistency Mak sense that's why a lot of African food the same person can't doesn't cook the same thing twice never because they don't have any written measurements they tell you when the ancestors stop yep say stop that's when you stop right so there's some people like that who will always make a good cake doesn't mean they're good people right it's just they have the willower to follow a recipe the discipline to follow a recipe some people don't have that discipline right so at the end of the day right it's very possible for somebody to obey all the laws like that the guy did but when his money was touched H the truth now comes out that this one he pass will power right and many times God brings us to that place to a place of weakness I have a question how do people now become aware of where their shortcomings are Lord will show them and the word of God says it if they don't want to hear then God has to show them right if if if you read the Bible and you're looking for Christ and you see the things that Christ criticized and the things that Christ complained about and the things that Christ encouraged and you look at Christ yeah with the Holy Spirit on the inside of you you will see the things in you that are problematic and when you yield them to Christ and the way that you yield them to Christ is very simple you adopt that which Christ has said and leave that which you think is right yeah you display Christ as opposed to displaying yourself so we always like to keep it 100 keep it Christ keep it Christ right yeah save the 100 keep it Christ if you display Christ you become like Christ but when you display yourself you become more of yourself right so there's this thing about oh I'm not I want to be honest I want to be authentic yeah authenticity right has its place right but authenticity becomes a cloak right for immaturity when we don't understand that we're not called to be ourselves we're called to be like Christ right I'm called to be like Christ yeah and I tried I had a meeting with some folks who are joining our leadership team and some of the leaders and I said to them that the only expectation that I have of you is that in every encounter you lead with Christ that everybody who meets you that they meet Christ whether it is in you can't speak English let them meet Christ speaking pigeon English whether it is your thick yob accent let them meet Christ with your y accent but let it be Christ even if you went to KC let them meet Christ wow let them me casy Christ it's possible wow it's tough but it's possible to find a casy Christ wow you know wow wow um so so so so so the word of God reveals that to you right but then if all you are doing is searching in the word of God for the secrets to be a millionaire you will never see your own flaws you will only see the things you need to do so Christians will tell you I need to give 10% I need to because God says he will open the windows of heaven and bless me I need to but I don't need to love the homeless H something to think about I don't need to it is not part of the equation that leads to my financial increase what about what about those people that like I wouldn't even say that's true what about those people that like I'm trying to flip it cuz wealth is a little bit easier for me to that just I'm trying to get a little bit deeper what those people that like go and do an outward showing of feeding the poor yeah the opposite and I'm just trying to get deep right and again it looks like they're following the word yeah but they are hard and their motiv is again I know obviously God is the judge of that is far away but in their mind that's what they think they think that oh going to feed the poor going to do all of that honly can can can can can I be honest with you I really don't think in their mind they know that I think in their mind they know exactly what they're yes you it's like it's like in America right at the towards the end of the year you know that whatever charitable deduction you did not make you cannot charitable donation you did not make you cannot deduct it from your taxes right and if you have enough deductions your taxes come down exponentially significantly so a lot of people will make donations at the end of the year they know what they're doing yeah they know that it's not truly for no it's not about the need it's about what deduction what they say two things can exist I can both give to the poor but also yeah but but but but you see this is interesting thing and that and that's valid it's valid two things can be true right but God knows which one is more true God knows which one is driving you and his opinion is the one that ultimately matters the Bible says God weighs the thoughts and the intents of every heart right now but this is the beauty of all of this that when we are in Christ right God does not weigh US based on our charitable contributions he weighs US based on Christ's obedience yeah right and that is why when Jesus Christ said to that guy go sell everything you have yeah I realized that he actually was doing something very interesting as we speak if that guy had gone and sold everything he had he would have come back to Jesus and said I sold everything head and he would have become one of his disciples right but his wealth was a hindrance between him and Christ that's why Jesus Christ said it is going to be hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom because to follow me yes remember what we were saying earlier nobody can come to the father except through me yeah we all there's something in humanity that starts off with god with what I can get from God there's just something about it right that drives us to God when I don't need anything it's harder I'm a master of the universe that's what they call the kings of the the Kings and princes of Wall Street they call them Masters of the Universe they don't need anything why do I need God it takes sometimes right to come to a place where you are helpless to look for a helper mhm a helpless will always look for helpers the people who need help don't look for a Helper and when you present to them a helper they ask you why why do I need your helper why do I need your God it takes many times many times right rich people experiencing some kind of situation of helplessness for them to turn to God yeah and God is merciful he brings it he brings it is that is that enough for for the Lord I'm curious that they come because of what they want because all of us come because of what we want all of us come because I don't know any well let me rephrase that I don't know of anybody who was contemplating the Stars like Abraham and came to God maybe even Uncle Abraham was looking for Ping and could not have it who knows right and that one okay this all these local deities have not been able to do for me maybe The God Who made the Stars maybe him he can do something for me and he turned to God I believe sincerely that if Moses had not seen the burning bush would he have come to God and if he had seen the burning bush while he was in Pharaoh's Palace would he would he have made any difference to him if you been walking around in the wilderness with sheep when you were a prince of Egypt guy if you see Bush the born no more you go you go turn cuz then you're looking for something you're looking for something right I think that is one of the challenges with Comfort Comfort makes us feel like we are invincible yeah that's what Comfort does and we all aspire to comfort we do yeah and I mean obviously this has been before P we want to give you the opportunity to wrap us up and before you wrap you wrap us up W that sounds wrong on to has a penchant of rying I got it of reifying the most mundane things so weird um yeah so weird um and then that's hand signal what are you I'm trying to trying to get us back to this education um no uh a few things um again we we want to acknowledge the the audience in in a couple of things first and foremost we appreciate all your feedback um we also want to tell you guys that we have a video component as well um it's not just us talking you can also see theisms and see the sincerity in our you know on YouTube our faces uh YouTube um and also want to acknowledge only I wanted to say is like the church that uh Pastor fam Yayo pastor phenomenal Church um why you say my voice in that accor say the way you say it sounds like say the way say just say the way you say it please churchy pastors is a phenomenal church but the purpose of the of the podcast is again to create a a um a a space where we can one understand our foundations Christ um allow PF to be in the All City and again I I guess tell us he's on F Ty perspectives y using the word as the foundation right um but also we want to say thank you uh for your for your feedback for your comments for for for listening for tuning in for sharing for subscribing so PF in four sentences or less given the possible it's very possible given the situation of the the Young Rich ruler and how after everything you done cuz I think this is a consistency your your messaging um was asked that question of like okay give up everything and come to me and he and he was Crest falling he was sad and he couldn't do it if you were looking at I don't know which one is pf's camera L one a tun day that is maybe might not be money that is my you know sex whatever it is what my IDs that it's harder for me to give up because of Christ what would you tell me well I'll tell you that Christ doesn't come to you and ask you to give up anything he comes to you and says he has given up everything for you right and all he is doing is offering you a gift not something that you pay for he paid the price already what he offer what he's offering you is free when you accept that gift that he offers you you and him will walk together and in Walking together you and him will decide or he will decide and it will be okay with you what to give up what not to give up what matters and what doesn't matter but he does not start with give this up for me or give that up for me he gave up everything for you and that's all that God is interested in that you are willing to say to him I accept the gift right I think that we have heard so much about the things you have to give up for this God you don't know for this Christ you don't know why should I give this up that is why I don't think Christ comes to us asking us to give up stuff he just comes to us asking us to accept what he has giving his life up for yeah and when you accept that gift when you accept that gift you enter into a relationship with God that transcends money sex booze good time whatever it is that you think is valuable in your life you find something in infinitely finitely more valuable yeah than anything that you have so the question is not about giving up question is about receiving not giving up rich young ruler that was him and this is you yeah shout out thank you guys appreciate it see you on the next one peace unfilter n
