(0:00)Florida, Sabbath, and Mental Health
hey everybody welcome thanks for joining us so what are we talking about today all right PF I mean I think we should kind of first do a Paul check how you feeling how's your week been I'm good I'm really good you know I'm really good you want on a sabatical recently right I don't I don't I don't know if it was long enough to qualify as a sabatical I took some time off I took a month of work of church I was exhausted and you know I decided I needed to take a break so I went away for a month when to Florida nice yeah and by yourself you didn't take your people no it was me and AK me and the wife went to Florida for a week and we just did nothing just it slept you know just did absolutely nothing it was refreshing I don't think what was the best part they doing nothing they doing nothing it was just great it was one of those results in KY Lago where there really isn't much to do other than swim or water things and I'm not really a water person like that I believe that if you cannot pull the plug on it it is too much water that cut out everything pretty much other than a bathtub right so yeah you know we went to kilago sat on the beach ate a lot of unhealthy food but it was fun can't tell you can't tell you came back looking good yeah thank you I I work hard at this image yeah all right so I mean the
(1:21)The Amapiano Test: Sacred or Secular?
question I kind of had and Sh and I talked a little bit before this but the question I personally had was if you've ever heard this song I'm going to play it for you okay go ahead just curious to know if you've heard it or not what song is that you will find out he's about to play it I very familiar oh okay can you guess who your artist is no at all at all but if I ask you is this a Christian song or okay I recognize the genre of music is this am a piano kind of sound coming from South Africa lately I think that's the time right I guess I would say that's definitely the vibe of the music yeah but I don't recognize the artist I've never heard it before but I've heard that Rhythm that undertone of the do you listen to any kind of music like this yeah of course I listen to all types of music okay yeah so it's going to kind of take us around like or bring us to the topic of today because we're talking a little bit about secularism in the church okay or I guess not necessarily in the church okay but having the church as the people that are not the people but the organization of the body that hosts Believers okay and if you have certain Believers that might listen to a particular genre of music and they feel bad like ah on Saturday night I'm saying 2:30 fell but on Sunday is Miracle Worker promise keeper you think there is a a disconnect there I I
(2:48)Music: A Powerful Medium or a Sin?
think that you know music is very powerful right it's a really powerful medium of expression I think music has the ability to enter parts of uh makeup that regular words just don't always have music has the ability to connect us to God it has the ability to connect us to people music can move our emotions in a way that not many things can but even with that knowledge I think that we also have to put it in context we live a life where we are constantly receiving stimulus input from secular sources the news that we watch the TV shows that we watch unless we're going to say that we
(3:30)Where Do We Draw the Line?
will only allow input from spiritual sources then we can't say oh don't listen to secular music on Saturday night we can't say because if we're going to say don't listen to secular music on Saturday night then we're going to say don't watch watch TV on Saturday night and we're going say don't watch soccer on Saturday night you're going to say don't watch football on Saturday night right where do you draw the line between what is edifying and what is entertaining when some people watch football on on TV it relaxes them and that's the extent of it they don't lose their minds they don't go crazy just puts them in a relaxed State of Mind some people listen to cirular music and that's what it does as well it puts them in a relaxed state of mind so I think we have to be careful to not be so how I put it to not Target a particular source of input when there are multiple sources of input that can create just as much damage as the other one now if I'm going to start telling people stop listening to secular music I'm going to start telling people stop watching sports because you can get so engrossed in a sports game that you're cheering for your team and that team can become an idol I mean some people don't go to
(4:43)The Arsenal vs. Church Dilemma
church because they want to watch Premier League you are you attacking me directly I'm not attacking you directly this jersey you know what I'm saying some ab and it's a thing they would go to chur go to church because they want to watch premier league and I wouldn't to kind of their spirituality I would not lie PF I would defin I'll confess there have been times and only it depends on the match if it's like Arsenal like versus Man United like a high profile game and it's at 10:30 you're not going to go to church or I could come to church cuz I really like your sermons and then when it's time for watching exactly but I'm kind of paying attention to you though right but then so ask yourself this right has man united become your God God forbid man united I reject it or Arenal worse we can say what that even worse for another convers but I would say to your point it depends let's talk about it no to pf's point it depends there are moments where I've had family members tell me okay this is a little bit too much because you are not just emotionally entwined in the 90 minutes but but yeah but nobody says oh don't don't watch Arsenal nobody says that they say to you oh the watching of the Arsenal or the Premier League is a little too much we music they are telling you don't that's a spirit I feel like that's one of those I know I'm going to quote this out of context but some people might say that's part of not conforming to the world and the things of the world well okay so
(6:03)Conforming to the World (Scripture Context)
you're quoting that scripture out of context and that is not quite what the scripture means right the world is not just the things in the world per se in terms of music or entertainment it is the way the world thinks please don't misunderstand me music is powerful music can move you but Sports also move people does in the same way that music can move you to sin Sports move people to sin food moves people to sin HGTV and that houses drives covetousness and greed on a level that you can't even imagine somebody buys a brand new house and next thing you know they spend time on agv they want another house I'm trying to say that look we are always looking for what to scapegoat rather than dealing with the issue that we need to confront and that is to what extent are people who are followers of Christ beholding Christ on a daily basis on a regular basis to the point where they are able to be transformed by what they behold yeah you want to skapegoat music and say oh secular music secular music Christians are listening to secular music then let's just go all the way and say you know Christians just throw away your TV throw away your your phone because you know you go on IG and you see stuff social media yeah you know cut off from social media just cut off from the world it makes me feel like what we're looking for is what can we do and what we can't do Christianity in its
(7:27)Godโs True Intention: Relationship
the intention of God is to bring people people into relationship with himself he made Adam and Eve for a relationship people say oh he made them to replenish to have dominion no he made them for a relationship he could have replenished he could have had Dominion with angels the only thing that Adam and Eve can do or could do that the Angels couldn't do was have a relationship with God the Bible says God would come in the cool of the evening and walk with them in the garden God's intention in Christ is a relationship with us and once we lose sight of that fact then we start entering into all these religious lines oh what is this what is that how far can I go how far is too much you know it's like teenagers trying to find out whether they can kiss or hold hands that is you know what is the point but to your point PF so not just with music but like with TV and just like in this time that we're living I feel like so many things are being thrown at you like you turn on your TV whether or not you're even it's almost hard to even filter what you're receiving so I guess my question is how can you be intentional about that because like you said it affects people differently so some people will take in the music and it's just Vibes like I move on I pick up the next thing and I'm gone but for somebody else who is like no that's all that's I'm thinking about the whole day next day I'm meditating on like and it's not even like an intentional thing how do you then filter through like everything that's being presented
(9:00)The Danger of One-Size-Fits-All Rules
okay so so this is what I think right and I think that is a more sincere conversation than the music conversation I think the music conversation is pratic right because it does not actually address the issue it purports to address you know you know what I'm saying now the question you ask I think that is the issue and this is what I believe I believe everybody is different and everything impacts everybody differently so a one siiz fits-all approach does not really ever work in any situation and if you do a one- siiz fits-all approach what you have done is you have created a new rule a new law a new regulation for somebody to obey and Paul is clear what the law does is that he stirs up sin and when it stirs up sin it leads to death so I don't want to make a law what I want to say to you is this as somebody who is beholding Christ in order to be conformed to the image of Christ how is this thing impacting that Journey whether it's music whether it's social media whether it's Premier League whatever how is this impacting my journey to become like Christ and then let me ask the Holy Spirit to deal with it accordingly so if For You music is just Vibes but what distracts you what gets into your head what affects your mood what affects your life is the things that you see on social media then then talk to God about that and say hey I'm coming up with a bunch of stuff on social media that is not edifying me it's distracting me and that's the holy spirit so I think that really even I can make suggestions about things that might be helpful that might have helped me but may not necessarily help you but ultimately at the Crux of the matter is this how sincere are we in our mission to be like Christ if you're sincere I don't need to tell you do this or don't do that between you and the Holy Spirit you will find a way to push aside the things that are a distraction to you but many times we approach these things not from that perspective we approach them from from me what are the things that I can get away with doing what are the things I can't get away with doing because my intention is not to be conformed to the image of Christ my intention is to position myself so that God can bless me so what are the things that will take me out of position if I listen to five songs for five minutes is that okay no that's not okay okay three songs for three so we're constantly negotiating the line trying to find out where the line is as opposed to what will stop me from being like Jesus what will stop me from beholding Jesus if you are sincere in that question the holy spirit will reveal it to you and he will tell you what you need to do to move that thing from your view in a way that is a distraction to your view we want set answers we want somebody to tell us do this don't do this do this don't do that but what we don't realize that we're positioning ourselves for failure with that because automatically once you start to live under the law or laws then you are exposed exposing yourself to the power of your flesh to the power of sin that will always lead to death I don't know if that any sense to you no it does it does IT addresses I guess the issue of instead of what can I do like how much do I have to do to to still be considered holy I guess yes we're constantly looking for L it's almost like and it's it's like look at it like this right religion is ritual
(12:25)Religion vs. Relationship
we're looking for the ritual that we will perform to get the what's the word to get the approval of a God in order to receive the blessings from that God that's what religion does so religion likes formula religion likes ritual Rel religion struggles with relationship because relationships are complex relationships are Dynamic relationships e and flow relationships have highs and lows religion is consistent obey these 613 laws and you're good with God but relation relationships are messy we
(12:56)David: The Messy Truth About Intimacy
always talk about David but we don't really look at David David had a bit of a messy relationship with God but at the end of it years after David died God says David was a man after my own heart even though he had a Mery relationship with God the difference between David and a lot of what we see today is a relationship not a formula it was real it was authentic it had ups it had Downs there were times when God was upset with David there were times when God was happy with David but it was a relationship it was real it was authentic and we keep talking about David looking for formulas out of David's life we read the Psalms and we're looking for formulas out of it but the Psalms man the Psalms are messy the Psalms are you know David is angry David is depressed David is Happy David is sad David is broke David is mad you know it was just a regular guy dealing with God by faith but we want to deal with God like David but not like David you know we want okay I want to be a man after go God's heart but it it is within this you know obey this 63 laws and that will make me a man after God's heart no no no no no what will make you after a man what will make you a man after God's heart is that you have a sincere relationship with God God has baked your flaws into the pie do we think God didn't know who David was of course he did Saul on the other hand was about okay this is what I need to do sacrifice right okay I'm going to offer the sacrifice oh I'm not supposed to offer the sacrifice well you know so what I'm hearing I mean you're making a lot of sense what I'm hearing from you is like it's not necessarily the there's a tendency for us as Christians or as Believers in general to pick up the Bible and look for confirmation Biers right like oh like I have a particular Viewpoint or I have a I have something I need let me pick it up and pray to a god that I love and I hope you I know he loves me bad not even hope and if I fast or if I find someone in there that says someone wrestled with God and said I will not let you go you bless me I guess I must wrestle with God however what I'm hearing is that if that is not done with sincerity if that is not done with some level of truth if it's just to get from God then that is more religion than relationship no okay partly but this is what I'm saying if you look at the Bible there are many different interactions with God many different interactions with God there are very few interactions that occurred multiple times so for example only one person wrestled with God Jacob only one person had his hip broken right Jacob Samson had a different relationship with God David had a different relationship with God Solomon had a different relationship with God but all the people that had a relationship with God had a very the relationships were complex look at Abraham Father Abraham had many sons yeah had many sons Father Abraham had a complex relationship with God we when we talk about faith we see how Abraham did not stagger at the promises of God but Abraham lied about his wife twice Abra slept with his wife's maid the wife brought the maid to sleep with her husband that's about to say I mean that one was but he didn't say no there you go he didn't say no no he didn't say no and he didn't say oh my God I don't want to commit this sin against God he slept with the woman they had a baby they were happy about the baby when anti say I got pregnant all of a sudden that baby is a problem everybody displayed messy character in that story everybody the only person that was not messy the only people that were not messy in quote were hagga and ishmail hagga obeyed orders at the time ishmail was just a little boy who didn't ask to be brought into this world yeah yeah when hagga ran away because Sarah who asked hagga to sleep with her husband and was going to take ishma as her own now that her she was pregnant she sent hagga away she she maltreated her sent her away what was God's verdict on these people what was God's you know when we go to the book of Hebrews and it's talking about The Heroes of Faith what did God say about these people God was not talking about how man that's Sarah man that woman is kind of mean how do you tell your May to sleep with your husband now that you have your own child you're going to just treat her like trash in today's society if that kind of thing was on social media that Sarah did that we would have canceled Sarah like since and the same thing with Abra would have canceled Abra we would have canceled David we would have canceled Solomon a bunch of people in Scripture that we would have canceled even the church would have canceled them 100% for sure but we whitewash them and I don't mean that in any kind of way we make it seem like these were not messy relationship very messy relationships I don't know anybody in the Bible that did not have a messy relationship of some sort with God except an yeah just he walked with God he was yeah I was going to say job but and this is the thing right that is what relationships are relationships are messy they're messy and so is there a part of us that is afraid of having a relationship with God because we think it's going to be work like because it's not going to be perfect and it's going to be messy and it it's not going to no look easy I think we're afraid of a relationship with God because we Define that relationship in terms of 613 laws 6 certain things I am not allowed to do some of which I want to do that is why it's scary to have a relationship with God because we see relationship with God as a commitment to obeying 613 rules if I meet tday for example on the street I'm like hey T you know what I really like you I like to hang out with you he's like oh sure absolutely we can be friends you know what I can do so much for you but there's this 613 laws that you must obey before we can have any kind of interaction yeah yeah and okay I think I can do it and then you see my relationship with t and you're like you know what PF I want to have that kind of relationship you have with t with and I tell you well there 63 laws that you got OB spre the message right before you Rel with that then creates fear like oh wow can I really obey 63 laws and then I throw in that and you know what T is really mean if you don't obey those laws so what about 62 62 no 63 and if you don't obey it you know he'll kill you he can kill you you know he's been known to kill people of course people are going to be afraid of course people are going to be there's going to be trepidation because you're not telling them how much man God loves you the Bible says God has commended his love he has demonstrated his love for us in that while we were still still Sinners he died for us God LED with his love why don't we lead with God's love why do we lead with all the things that people can't do why do we talk about Christianity as you know once you're a Christian you can't do this you can't do that that is what we're known for the things we can't do not for the things that we can do we talk about the relationship exclusively along the lines of what you can't do you know you have a relationship with God you can't be doing that is that what a relationship is what I can't do no that's not what a relationship if my wife defines our marriage by what I can't do that's a problem and marriage a lot of young people don't want to marry because when they think marriage they think of what I can't do they don't think of what I'm going to get or what I can do it's about what I can't do oh I'm married now I can't go out oh I'm married now I can't do this I'm married now I can't do that why do I want to get married seriously and that's a lot of the guys right why do I want to get married it's all about what I can't do how about you know when you get married you're just going to have somebody in your life who stands by you who reassures you who comforts you who loves you you somebody in your life who you can build up who you can help who you can just be there for we can talk about all the things that we can do and people are going to want it but when we talk about all the things that you can't do people are going to be like right and that is how many times people see Christianity who who do we blame for that who is responsible for that because that is not how God enticed us that's how God Drew us to him it wasn't about what we can do it was about what he did for us because see I sent my son to die for you while you were still a mess I sent him to die for you that is attractive I think that's understood to a certain extent at least I'll speak personally that God's love for me is Indescribable that his relationship with me that even if I'm not faithful years I think even if we don't say it verbally subconsciously I I want to say most Believers understand that because for me when I first heard you speak I think it was 2016 as an aspiring youth you know understand I I'll be real I by deal you're older just a little bit and ASP you she help me out help me out it's been a minute 2016 a long time like years that was when we used to be a different threel word I got you for you know if you know you know but when I heard you as a young person then when I heard you speak you had a way of being able to you almost captured like I'm in a world I'm trying to figure out how I can love build a relationship with God I can genuinely but also balance my modern interaction with society and you had a way of handling difficult questions that a lot of my religious ancestors were not necessarily able to right and and and I think again it's a question of perspective if I look at Christianity from a perspective of what what are the things that you cannot do to be in the will of God as opposed to what are the things that you enjoy when you are in the will of God what are the blessings of being in the will of God what are the promises of being in the will of God it changes the narrative yes all Christians have in their subconscious God loves you we don't need it in our subconscious we need it in our conscious come bring back in our cons it needs to guide our every waking moment I guess my question for you is like if you had that that tday 2016 how many years is that eight years eight eight years ago and you know this is someone that is trying to find their Journey with God in a complex society from a modern standpoint yeah what would you tell me I would drum it into your head about how much God loves you and how much he loves you and how much he knows you and and he knows you and he loves you so this is the thing we are afraid of telling people that God knows them God loves them because we feel it validates where they are we have to undermine where they are or discredit where they are in order to encourage them to move away from them when you say where they are are you saying like just where they struggle or like yes in the place of their struggles so we're talking about 8 years ago when you first got born again for example probably you're still doing a bunch of stuff you should not be doing now if I tell you how much God loves you in that place it might make you feel like so why am I changing it right why do I need to be better if he loves me already why do I need to be better so I remove the acceptance part of the speech I remove the god seeing you part of the speech I talk about God loves you but in order to remain in his love you have to change a b CDE E F G you have to move away from there and again yeah it might seem benign but it's problematic the Bible says change true change comes when we behold Christ when we Behold Him with unveiled faces that is when we are transformed I cannot hide the truth from you and think you will transform I cannot not tell you about how much he loves you and think you'll be transformed God is love Jesus is a manifestation of God's love I personally believe that the more of God's love you see the more like God you will become and the more like God you become the less of the that is what we that is what the church says it wants people who look like God that's what we say we want but we are afraid to trust God to transform people using the method that God laid out in scripture so what we try to do is either scare people or manipulate people into the right place we don't acknowledge that listen what do you think it means when the Bible says God Comm amended his love to us word in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us why would Paul tell you that it was while you were in the pit of sin that Jesus died for you why would he tell you that why doesn't he just say God loves you no he because they want us to know that his love is not based on our performance his love is his love do you respond to transactional love yeah but it's not yes but it's not organic like if you were to buy me something yeah this will for me like I feel I feel inclined to awesome to do it back right and what God was trying to tell us is this while you had nothing to give me I loved you he who freely gave us his son how much more with him not also freely give us everything else the point I'm trying to make is this we have to move from a transactional mindset now the the thing about the transaction is this which is really the irony what what are we giving God actually a good point what are we giving God we think that if we Are Holy we're giving God Holiness right that is our gift to God TI maybe our TI the silver and the gold belong to God the cattle on a thousand hills belong to God if I'm hungry I will not even tell you so God is not about the food our praise our worship does not validate him he doesn't he's not insecure he doesn't have no self-esteem he doesn't need reassurance from us that he is God so what is it exactly that we have that God needs this nothing that we have that he needs he wants a relationship with us and that is why he was willing to make the first move so to your point as we behold we are transformed right I think my question then is at what point do we start to take I don't want to say responsibility but like we know that there's nothing that will separate us from God's love literally nothing but at what point do we say he has done this much I want to do not because he needs it but because hey he's done this much and then then I guess my next would also be like with this I guess spiritual disciplines like hey even praying and not just praying because I want something but even to build relationship so if you pray to build relationship I think that's great if you pray because you think prayer impresses God let it be that you are clear that God enjoys the communication with you not the rigor of prayer per se if you have to climb up to a mountain because you just want to hang out with me that that makes me feel like oh wow this person really loves me but if you climb up the mountain because you want to build your muscles because you think your muscles will impress me blah blah blah blah blah blah blah it's not about me anymore right wasn't that majority of us though people but that's the problem oh yeah you actually yeah that's the problem though we think at leastly all of these things that we do spiritual disciplines fasting prayer all of those things they're good things if our goal is to connect with this Superior being because that is what all of those things are they are connectors but we've turned them into an exercise a session in the gym you can you can talk to me just to talk to me because you want to hear what I have to say cuz you want to be around me or you can talk to me to be able to say you know what I'm a good talker I I can talk you know I've got serious talking muscles you can even give yourself title prayer Warrior PW that's why I call that for real say but it's about talking my wife and I we talk we talk Talking is not the thing it's the connection that talking creates that is the thing to say yeah I think the church's problem is that we have lost sight of God's ultimate purpose to reconcile us to him I feel like if you're sincere about that reconciliation about being in a relationship with God the things that are a problem you know why I believe that the church should continue to preach about Hellfire I think the church should continue to tell people that if you a fornicator you will go to hell I think the church should continue to tell people that the wages of sin is death I think the church should preach the Gloom and the Doom do you know why why because God still detests abhors sin there is no room for sin in God's presence but can't we say that but they not necessarily need to use the hell Fear Factor to like push message do you know why cuz if we don't tell the truth there's no power there's power in the truth the wages of sin is death what is death an eternal separation from God what is death it is hell right I agree if I am not afraid of hell then I will not hunger and thirst for righteousness yeah if I do not hunger and thirst for righteousness because I am not afraid of hell I will not look for God yeah if I am afraid of hell and so I seek to be righteous two things will happen I will either meet a Christian or I will meet a religious person I was about to say that I think it will push more people into the fear in religious bad relationship B yes that's fine that's okay we have to remember that the law is good the law is not a problem the is good what the law does is this it will frustrate you if you're sincere the law will frustrate you because you will be intent on obeying the laws because you really want to have a relationship with God and you will fail and when you fail Jesus is right there waiting for you so I don't mind if I stir up your hunger I tell you that oh boy you better get your is together you're going to hell I don't mind telling you that because that scares you enough to want to be like oh I better get right with God you will either go to Jesus or you will go to the Lord if you go to the Lord the Lord will eventually bring you to Jesus there has to be a hunger and a thirst what we have done is that we have S stepped the hunger and The Thirst and we have replaced it with shiny objects that I can get in another way there's nothing that quenches hunger other than food nothing the only answer to hunger is food the only answer to the hunger for righteousness is Christ but what is the answer to materialism it's not Christ Christ is not the only answer Christ is one way yeah I'm robbery is another way fraud is another way yeah pornography is one way there are many ways to get money only fans they make now wait I'm sorry what's only fan I don't know know what that is please Google it you so so if we say to people right yeah blessed are they that are broke and the Bible say blessed are the poor is that what it say poor in spirit poor in spirit sorry yeah if you're broke blessed are the homeless for they will get a house there are many ways to get a house but there's no other way to have that thirst and that hunger for righteousness other than Christ he's the bread of life so you have a lot of people in church who do not give a toss about righteousness they don't hunger for it they don't thirst for it they just think it's a way to get money and when they find out there are other ways to get money leave righteousness alone what drives righteousness what makes a man hunger and thirst for righteousness it is a realization that the absence of rightous is an eternal separation from God so the church has to preach gloom and doom in order to preach Grace without gloom and doom Grace is of no use that's why I struggle I guess because because what I'm interpreting from youf is that whether you going out the route of religion or relationship you better be sincere when Jesus Christ said if you look at a woman to desire her you've committed adultery right he was trying to elevate the conversation that guys is this thing that you people think is just your your hand is also your heart and that really is the problem religion can only touch your hands it cannot touch your heart and if P it touches your heart it cannot touch the nature of sin that we inherit in in Adam so religion frustrates you and brings you if you are sincere to Christ that's why Jesus said blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness in him they will be filled blessed are they that are poor in spirit blessed are they that blessed are Meek in him his the manifestation of Christ is the food that feeds the hunger it's the wealth that enriches the poor in spirit yeah but what the church has done is two things number one we have created a path that avoids gloom and doom but makes Jesus irrelevant just obey these rituals and by the way the 63 laws the church has reduced it yeah we we we we've taken some things out we've said that some things are ceremonial to now nobody has it depends on the church depends on the church you go so for some of us it's just the 10 Commandments but there's no way in the Bible where that distinction between moral law ceremonial law spiritual law economic law Financial law there's no separation in the Bible it says if You observe to do all that is contained in the book of the laws all so when your pastor is telling you that no no that one is just for the Jews it's for the temple and there's no Temple so you don't have to obey that one he doesn't know what he talking about my pastor doesn't tell me that though no the pastor would never does that make sense guys yeah it does it does awesome it for me what answered the secularism question was when you said and you actually summarized it really well you Behold Him you get transformed because otherwise it's like oh okay PF how do I balance listening to Shak on Saturday and coming to church and doing you know but like you being able to say okay F let's be honest you want to open that door let's open the door yeah but we don't want to open that door and that's my problem with the church because then it opens us up to being accused of Hypocrites of being of of being called Hypocrites because we're selective in our outrage very selective in our out you want to be outrage be outraged if we're going to open the door open the door and then let's see who will stand there's a there there's a denomination in Nigeria that where I come from they have banned televisions they don't have televisions in their houses they don't wear makeup they don't wear jewelry there's no moderation of makeup they just they've banned all of those things when you see them they don't look they look very dra they don't laugh they don't play they just very stoic very you know almost like constantly scowling and frowning if that's where we want to go let us say that's where we want to go all these hybrid things HB hybrid spirituality it's a comedy I actually thought the angle you were going when you mentioned that was the cuz you said this that you had a sermon one time you mentioned this the he who doubt seeing cast the first he yeah he did not encourage obviously the prostitution but then he was able to say okay you I play off let's play off and no one could actually take the stone and then cast on we we what what my biggest frustration with the that thing is the is the is the smalification of God God says that I do not I look at the heart and we think okay God looks on the heart so that means that God you know he will look at your outward then he will go to another camera and look at your heart you know right no when God sees you he sees all of you he sees your heart he sees your outside he sees every aspect of you in one glance he doesn't have to press a Buttle okay we've seen the external let's look at the internal he sees all of you so when the Bible says all your righteousness is as a filthy re before the Lord your tithe is good but the heart is bad God is not going to validate the tithe and ignore the heart he sees your act of kindness but he sees the lack of Love he's not going to validate your act of kindness because in him they are one and the same to him they are one and the same he sees all of it he sees the food but he also sees the plate the food was offered on we think he's going to see the food and maybe not really see the plate that the plate is filthy he he can't not see it that's the way his eyes are he sees everything so there's nothing that you bring to God outside of Christ that is acceptable to God if he says all of your righteousness everything you guys bring by yourselves there's a stain on it and what is that stain Adam's sin and that is why we have to elevate the conversation beyond what you did with your hands that that brings it down to a level that doesn't even get to the issue the issue is what Adam did it's a stain that cannot be erased except by the blood of Jesus and that is the problem that is why all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God all not one not some all not most all majority all you get almost all you're getting it now yeah I'm getting small small it small small little by little get get it yes I mean I understand the difficulty of his conversations and and I do appreciate again like I said the way you kind of break down difficult conversations I think that's a lot of reasons why people are listening before sh closes us out I want you to staying on topic of P from fut Christ the church and our world if there was one question that you would ask someone listening watching that would help them again go down that path of sincerity what would that question be is your Christianity light and is it easy is your Christianity light and is your Christianity is because if your Christianity is hard if your Christian you are struggling it is not of Christ people struggle under the law Jesus Christ said when Paul said labor to enter into his rest is your Christianity restful is your relationship with God restful that's the question I would ask you know because that's the question that for me made me question everything because I read that thing my yoke is easy and my burden is light that means I don't have stress I don't have wahalla if you are stressed as a Christian chances are you are worshiping at Mount Si and we are called onto Zion to the city of the Living God to God himself wow I I have to think about that I know it's like a very like it seems like a simple question but it's a very deep one like is your Christianity light is it easy how's your walk are you strugg like do you feel like like there like to take a step every day is like such a drag and then why because then you would ask yourself then why are you even doing this yeah and that's why we're the church is empty our church empty not well see we moving yeah but the church is empty for real guys the church is empty because all the church has to offer people as some version of the 613 laws maybe maybe 22 maybe 65 but that's all the church has to offer laws rules regulations and there's no life in it there's no life in it that means that it's either this Bible is fake and is a lie or you are not lifting of Christ wow so I think I'm going to hold on to we behold until we are transformed I think it's just humbling to know because to also know that transformation is continual and it's like we talked about the relationship being Dynamic and it never ends continue to behold and sometimes messy don't be afraid of saying messy and messy the relationship is messy so because when he even said light I was like light doesn't mean that it doesn't that there's it's not messy it's messy it's messy David wasid we was like I want to be like David I want to be like David David had a messy relationship with God by the end of you God said a man after my own heart yeah that's powerful for me look at David's life man come on David was a was a mess he made more mistakes than Saul more but still a man after God that tells you that David and God had a relationship we think it's just the songs no no no it's not just the songs it's not just the Psalms if you had a relationship go you can sing until you're tired all righty we're g to end it here thank you so much for joining us and being a part of our conversation we look forward to hearing your thoughts and just how this has shifted we hope and pray that this creates a shift in your mind and the way that you approached Christ um we love you and enjoy the rest of your week God bless you have a fantastic week
